My name is James Rios, and I am the founding and lead pastor of Rescue Point Church in San Antonio, Texas. I met Jesus at the age of 5 and have had the desire to serve Him faithfully ever since.

I have been serving in ministry for more than 30 years. I began my first assignment at the young age of 16, serving as a children’s pastor, then went on to be a family pastor, part of a teaching team and, most recently, a life group pastor.

During much of that time, I was also a fireman with the San Antonio Fire Department and went on to become a paramedic and eventually a public safety speaker. But after 20 years of working in both ministry and the fire department, I retired from the SAFD to pursue my heart’s desire of being a full-time pastor. God placed a calling on my life to humbly and joyfully serve the city of San Antonio and to share the life-giving love, hope and joy found in Jesus.

My wife, Beverly, has been my partner in life and ministry since we wed in 1999. God has richly blessed us with 5 children who truly love to serve Jesus and people: Brielle (22), Bayley (21), Bethani (18), Brooklyn (16) and our only son Andrew (14).

Beverly met Jesus at a very young age in her grandfather’s church. Serving and loving people is what she feels she was born to do. Where you find me you will also find Beverly, we love going on dates and exploring new places together. We have enjoyed working alongside each other in ministry over our 24 years of marriage and are looking forward to what God has planned on this next adventure. You can usually find our family at Chick-fil-A, La Cantera or on a hike in the hill country. Faith, Family, Fun is our family motto and we try our best to live it out!
